You Don’t Have A Boyfriend Yet?

Updated: Oct 28, 2019

Boyfriend : a frequent or regular male companion in a romantic relationship (merriam-webster dictionary)

The question of the boyfriend always comes up at some point in the life of a young lady. Either from her parents, her relatives, her friends, her co-workers, people who have no business asking about her relationship status…

The idea is that when you’ve passed a certain age or when you’ve reached a certain place in your life, you have got to have a boyfriend if not a husband. Why?

I don’t know.

Our time

Nowadays, women and men are waiting longer than before to get married. I think that is so

significant of the 21st century love situation. Some women who are in their 20s, late 20s or 30s (or more) have never had a significant other…and it’s ok.

I know many girls who keep wondering, asking themselves:

"I’ve never had an actual boyfriend, what is wrong with me?"

If you want to take different steps to make that happen for you, it’s up to you.

But the actual status known as « never been in a relationship » is totally fine. You can actually be grateful for that because your heart, mind and soul, as a mature being, when it comes to that part of your life, will not be polluted by previous mistakes, misunderstandings or immaturity.

Focus

There are so many things in this world that you can do, that you need to do and that you will want to do. A relationship is what most of us want, but I am sure that it is not an end in itself in your life.

So whether you decide to pursue a relationship, to take those extra steps to make it happen or to just wait on the Lord, this status does not define you. Once you get into a relationship, that relationship will not define you.

As I said, it is up to YOU.

Forgive them gracefully, but don’t let anyone’s discouragement or shame get to you, because the power is in your hands.

Stay Blessed,

Love y’all 💋
